DSR1800
DVCAM Studio Editing Recorder/Player
The DSR-1500A incorporates the same innovative, high standard technology featured in the DSR-2000 into a compact, half-rack width design. The space-saving size makes the DSR-1500 ideal for such installations as in OB vehicles and with desktop editing systems. A key feature of the DSR-1500 is its recording and playback compatibility of consumer DV (SP mode only) in addition to DVCAM as well as playback capability of DVCPRO 25 Mbps recordings, and its ability to automatically accommodate all standardized cassette sizes without the need for an adapter or changing menu settings.

The DSR-1600 DVCAM player, successor to the DSR-60, offers improved jog audio, slow motion, and editing performance. The DSR-1600 has built in jog/search dial, multi-format playback capability of DV (SP only) and DVCPRO25, and can accommodate all 25 Mbps cassette sizes without the need for an adapter, or menu setting changes, for playback. The full range of analog and digital inputs outputs include SDI, SDTI, i.LINK, and AES/EBU digital audio, composite , component, and s-video analog video, making the DSR-1600 a very versatile digital video source machine.

The DSR-1800 is the successor model to the DSR-80. Implementing the innovative, high standard technology featured in the DSR-2000, the DSR-1800 boasts improved jog audio, slow motion and editing performance. Two major features of these models are the built-in jog/search dial and its multiple format playback capability of DV (SP only) and DVCPRO 25. DSR2000 DSR45 DSRDR1000
DSR2000
DVCAM Studio Editing Recorder with Double-Scan Playback Capability
DSR45
DVCAM Compact Half-rack Digital VTR
DSRDR1000
DVCAM Studio Video Disk Recorder
DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED WITH DSR-2000A. This VTR has playback compatibility of consumer DV (both SP and LP recorded tapes), DVCPRO (25 Mbps) as well as DVCAM. In addition, The DSR-2000 also has the ability to perform Double-Scan Playback, helping to restore both video and audio of misaligned tape information. The DSR2000 also includes a wider digital slow play range (-x1 to x1), excellent jog audio, built-in video control (TBC), RS-422 interface, and a built-in timecode generator. Analog interfaces (component, S-Video, composite video, and four balanced audio channels), SDI, SDTI (QSDI) and AES/EBU interfaces are standard. Optional i.LINK IEEE 1394 DV I/ O interface boards (DSBK-190) and an SDTI-CP interface boards (DSBK-210) are also available.
Key features include a 2 inch LCD monitor for viewing content, audio levels, tape information and user menu selection, time code insert and I/O, 4 channel audio control, 4-pin i.LINK IEEE 1394 DV I/O connection, RS-422A, RS-232C and Control S remote control interfaces. This front-loading VTR accepts both standard and mini size cassettes, and its half-rack design allows the DSR-45 to be easily integrated into existing linear and non-linear editing systems. The DSR-45 is also an ideal VTR for those looking to move from analog based formats to a professional grade digital format with a simple yet robust migration path.
The DSR-DR1000 is a DVCAM stream-based, hard-disk recorder that brings new production opportunities to the DVCAM family. This half-rack unit uses a large capacity hard-disk drive to provide more than six hours of DVCAM stream recording. Primarily designed for recording and edit feeding applications, the DSR-DR1000 takes full advantage of the benefits of disk-based recording while maintaining the same operational feel as a VTR. The DSR-DR1000 can simultaneously record and playback, allowing a recording to be available immediately for play out and other feeding purposes without interruption. An i.LINK™ connector supports both the SBP2 protocol for DV file transfer and the conventional i.LINK (DV) protocol (AVC protocol). The SBP2 protocol allows DV files on a DSR-DR1000 to be transferred to other compatible equipment at high speed. The DSR-DR1000 also offers the convenience of high-quality digital jog sound, and slow motion playback over a wide speed range. Providing unique disk-based features at an affordable price, the DSR-DR1000 is an excellent choice for implementing disk-based technology into production suites.

Bringing a New Level of Functionality and Robustness to HDV Productions - the HVR-1500A HDV Recorder The HVR-1500A is an HDV™ source feeder/ recorder*1 positioned at the top of the Sony HDV Series. Inheriting the design concept of the market-acclaimed DSR-1500A, the HVR-1500A offers the same convenient features that professional users demand, such as quick mechanical response,multi-format DV playback, and a rich set of professional video/audio interfaces ranging from analog to digital SDI and AES/EBU. The HVR-1500A also offers HD-SDI input/output and RS-422A control capabilities, bridging HDV source footage and assets with high-end HD formats and HD editing equipment. In addition, with the optional HVBK-1520 board installed, the HVR-1500A has a range of conversion capabilities that allow DV recordings to be up-converted to 1080i or 720P signals, and 1080i HDV recordings to be cross-converted to 720P signals. This allows operators to integrate DV and HDV source footage and assets into the same HD editing system, and gives them the flexibility to choose between either a 1080i or a 720P system. The HVR-1500A can also be used as a standard definition DVCAM™ recorder, in which case the same editing features as the DSR-1500A are offered. The HVR-1500A is certainly the HDV recorder of choice for environments where robustness and functionality are prime concerns.

Sony has introduced an affordable, yet high-performance HD recording system incorporating the HDV™ 1080i specification for use in its products, thereby offering the HDV format to a wide range of professional videographers. Since they were introduced, HDV systems have gained rapid and wide acceptance due to their high picture quality, outstanding performance, and cost effectiveness.

Today, in response to the demands for greater levels of operability, such as longer recording time and progressive format playback/record capabilities, Sony has introduced its latest HDV recorders – the HVR-M35U, HVR-M25AU and HVR-M15AU. The HVR-M35U, HVR-M25AU and HVR-M15AU enable users to record and play back video in a choice of formats –HDV 1080i, DVCAM™, and DV. They also feature the HDV native progressive format capability, which provides stunning 1080p image at 24, 25 or 30 frames per second.* One of the most powerful features of these VTRs is their compatibility with standard cassettes in addition to mini cassettes, which provides extended recording time of up to 276 minutes. These models are optimized for use with nonlinear editing systems thanks to their highly compact size and ease of operation. However, the HVR-M35U and HVR-M25AU provide additional powerful features such as a built-in 2.7-inch*1 type, 16:9 LCD monitor and an HD-SDI or HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) output for more demanding production environments.

The HVR-M35U, HVR-M25AU and HVR-M15AU are highly powerful, yet cost-effective tools for nonlinear editing systems that will serve both today’s production needs, as well as those of tomorrow.
